How would you they describe your brand?
It’s never easy evaluating ourselves — and that’s okay. If you believe the best definition of a brand we’ve ever heard, our own opinions don’t matter much anyway:

So does ‘branding’ mean we can somehow control what others say about us?
Not a chance! But we can certainly influence it.

It’d better be good.
Early in Angie’s advertising career, she wrote an ad for her employer, Brown Communications Group. It went like this:
People hate ads.

And that was before PVRs and the blessed ‘Skip Ad’ button. We still believe this is the way to make great advertising: Assume no one wants to see it.

Need a nose for news?
Before Angie’s advertising career, she earned a high honours degree in journalism and political science from Carleton University in Ottawa, studied financial reporting, worked in communications at the head office of Canada Post Corporation, interned at CFRA News Radio, volunteered writing constituent correspondence in a cabinet minister’s office on Parliament Hill and was editor of two trade magazines. She was trained not just to tell stories people care about, but also to sniff them out.
To us, good communication — be it PR, advertising, marketing, social media, a first date — begins with putting yourself in your audience’s shoes. Listening. Then talking with, not at.

Humanly may have a grand total of two employees right now (Angie Hicks, our Chief Executive Human, and Nikki Jessop, our Director of Customer Delight), but we’re anything but a two-human operation!
